There are a few medical reasons why you should find a quit smoking program. The most important medical reason of all is the health of your heart. Your heart is the key to your whole body working and the more you smoke the more you put a strain on your heart. Ultimately, you could wind up having a heart attack or stroke. Your lungs are another good reason to quit smoking. Smoking makes it harder for you to breathe, which will make it harder to exercise, and cancer of the lungs and throat are not good.
Your employment is also a very good reason to quit. There has been a trend in the last few years by businesses to hire only non-smokers, instead of just a qualified candidate who may also smoke. The reason for this is that less time is wasted during the work period than when employees stepping outside for a cigarette. Some companies do not want their public image to be of their employees outside smoking, which to them and their clients may look extremely unprofessional, and could cost them business.
Your family may actually be the most important reason for you to want to quit smoking. There may be members of your immediate family that my have health risks that your smoking could exacerbate like asthma, and allergies. Newborn children are also susceptible to harm from your second hand smoke, because their lungs and heart are not yet strong enough to counter the negative effects of your smoking. Your family may also not want to have to see you suffer in later years because of your cigarette habit. You might want to consider their health and well being a good reason to quit too.
